FAQs to QuinCAT

Any student or scientist with a proof-of-concept for their research transfer project, based on Green Chemistry principles, is eligible to apply.

No. If you are an officially founded startup, the lab space is unfortunately not available to you. Likewise, established corporations or companies are not eligible to apply for lab or office space.

Yes, as long as you are trained to work in a chemical lab, you are eligible to apply.

The QuinCAT Incubator is open to all students, scientists and researchers. You do not need to have an official contract or enrollment at RWTH Aachen University at the time of your application. However, if you are neither enrolled in or employed by RWTH Aachen University, you should contact Björn or René to discuss administrative and insurance-related questions

The labs are equipped with basic chemical lab equipment, including fume hoods, gas storage, and glassware. Additionally, analytical instruments such as GC-MS, HPLC, UV-VIS, etc and a 3D printer are available for QuinCAT teams. You will also have access to office spaces and in-house technical support and guidance from Björn.

You are responsible for covering your own salary as well as any salaries for your team members (if applicable). It is important that you receive funding (for at least 1 year), when applying to the incubator. You must also be able to provide funding for consumables, chemicals and any project-specific instruments you require.

The regular use period of the QuinCAT Incubator is one year. You may re-apply for an additional year of stay, if did not found a startup, yet.

At the moment, there are no costs and the resources can be used free of charge.

The QuinCAT Incubator does not provide any HiWis. You are encouraged to recruit further team members and students on your own.

For any further questions concerning QuinCAT, please contact Björn or René.
